God of War (abbreviated as GOW, from English "God of War") is an action-adventure video game developed by the renowned Santa Monica Studio and released for the PlayStation 2 console. The epic adventure was unveiled to the public in 2005 and immediately gained status as one of the most outstanding and influential works on this gaming platform. In 2007, a sequel titled God of War II was released, but the next step in the chronology was the game God of War: Chains of Olympus.
