Eternal Ring

Cain Morgan is the adopted son of the head of the security forces in the Kingdom of Heingaria. One day, Cain has a strange dream that brings back memories from his childhood, when his homeland of Solcia was conquered by neighboring Aldina. All he remembers is that “everyone went to the island.” This mysterious Island of No Return is now of great interest to the king, who is trying to find out why the Elders sent an expedition there. Rumor has it that the island holds a ring with unseen powers, and the king secretly sends Cain to investigate the fate of those who dared to go there and vanished without a trace.

Eternal Ring is a first-person role-playing game, similar in concept to the King's Field series. The game focuses on exploring interconnected dungeons and fighting enemies within. Compared to the King's Field games, its world is smaller and less open. With a few exceptions, Cain can only use swords. However, weapons play a relatively minor role in the game, and there is no armor. The gameplay system relies heavily on magic spells, which the player can obtain by equipping special rings and socketing them with gemstones.

Spells and the gemstones that contain them come in six different elemental types: fire, water, earth, wind, light, and darkness. The player creates rings by experimenting with different gemstone types, resulting in various effects. Up to six gemstones can be placed on both sides of a ring. Gemstones also have different levels that affect the outcome of the experiment. The rings you create can modify Cain’s attributes, increase his affinity for a specific element, provide support bonuses, or grant Cain powerful offensive spells.
