Star Wars: Bounty Hunter for PlayStation 2 is a third-person action game set in the Star Wars universe, where you play as the legendary bounty hunter Jango Fett. Released in 2002, the story takes place before the events of “Attack of the Clones.” As you progress, Jango takes on a dangerous job, clashes with mercenaries, criminals, and other enemies, and the plot gradually раскрывает his character and the reasons he became one of the galaxy’s most famous bounty hunters.
Gameplay focuses on fast-paced shootouts and Jango’s signature gear: dual blasters, a jetpack, and useful gadgets. Levels can be approached in different ways—go in guns blazing or play more carefully, looking for advantageous positions. A standout feature is the bounty system: you track down targets and earn credits for capturing them, and sometimes you can choose whether to take an enemy alive or eliminate them.
The game offers a variety of Star Wars-style locations—from grim urban districts to exotic planetary zones—where the environments and enemy types constantly change. For its time, Star Wars: Bounty Hunter stood out with strong visuals and cinematic presentation, while the music enhances the sense of adventure and “the hunt” in a galaxy far, far away.
Reviews were mixed but generally positive: the story, atmosphere, and the idea of a Jango Fett game were praised, while the most common complaints were clunky controls and occasionally linear missions. Even so, Star Wars: Bounty Hunter remains a notable PS2-era title and a great pick for Star Wars fans who want to experience a bounty hunter’s story and see the events leading up to “Attack of the Clones.”
